We are seeking a Lead Scada Applications Engineer with expertise in Inductive Automation Ignition who will be part of the Mission Critical data center team to lead the design, development, deployment, installation, and commissioning of SCADA systems for industrial automation solutions.  You will work closely with cross-functional teams, integrating industrial systems, and ensuring high-performance, scalable, and secure automation applications.

 

You will: 

  • Design, develop, and implement Ignition-based SCADA solutions for industrial automation projects.
  • Be a subject matter expert for Ignition architecture, Gateway configuration, Perspective development, MQTT Integration, and relational database integration.
  • Work cooperatively with engineering, design, production, and field service staff.
  • Be aware of Project budget and schedules for the purpose of recognizing and communicating issues to PMs before becoming a conflict.
  • Specify and configure various hardware components such as instrumentation, PLCs, communication systems and industrial control panels.
  • Perform on site functional testing of installed automation systems.
  • Mentor and train engineers, providing technical guidance and Ignition best practices.
  • Be an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates. 

You may: 

  • Develop/modify design documentation - drawing packages, method of procedures, sequence of operations, testing scripts.
  • Create tools, methods and approaches to increase engineering efficiency.
  • Develop and Lead training classes internally and externally.
  • Assist Business development team to evaluate and promote opportunities with predesigns, estimates, and in person presentations.

 

You have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the control system industry. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (Perspective, Vision, SQL, Tag Historian, Scripting).
  • Current Gold certified in Ignition.
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced Ignition concepts, including system architecture, scripting, and integration best practices.
  • Strong development skills in Jython, SQL, and JavaScript for building robust and scalable solutions.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles to design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Able to work independently on projects and tasks with a very organized and methodical approach
  • Basic understanding of control system network topologies
  • Ability to develop PLC and HMI programs within one or more languages.
  • Experience commissioning in "live" environments.  
  • A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.

 

You May Have: 

  • Experience with PLC or DDC controlled data center projects
  • Experience with AVEVA Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, OPC UA/DA, Rockwell or Schneider PLC's, Tridium Niagara, Eclypse Designer.
  • Experience with Building Management & HVAC Control Systems
  • Experience with BMS and EPMS
