Job description

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Orderly to join our Surgery Department team. As an Orderly, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our surgical facilities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of operating rooms before and after surgical procedures.
  • Transport patients to and from surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Set up and maintain sterile surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Stock and replenish surgical supplies and instruments.
  • Clean and sanitize surgical areas and equipment according to infection control standards.
  • Assist surgical team members as needed during procedures.
  • Dispose of biohazardous waste and hazardous materials properly.
  • Follow all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols.
  • Physical ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and surgical procedures.
