Group Leader – 2nd Shift

Position Overview
Alliance Workforce is seeking an experienced Group Leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing team in St. Petersburg. This is a great opportunity for a production professional who has experience leading, training, and coordinating employees while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. The Group Leader will help keep production on schedule by assigning daily work, setting priorities, supporting employees, and serving as a technical resource within the production work cell.

What You'll Do
  • Assign work and establish priorities based on the production schedule.
  • Coordinate daily workflow to support efficiency and on-time shipping.
  • Train employees on work instructions, assembly drawings, and production procedures.
  • Serve as a technical resource and assist employees with production questions.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Update supervisors and production systems regarding work-in-progress and schedule status.
  • Identify potential production issues and communicate concerns to management.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding employee performance.
  • Step into various work cell positions as needed to support production.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement solutions.
  • Serve as a backup to the Senior Group Leader when needed.
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of production/manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience training or leading employees preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding production environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and production documents.
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and measuring.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Willingness to actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Approximately 20% planning/clerical work and 80% production, material handling, machine operation, and assisting employees.
  • Primarily works on a manufacturing floor with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Hearing, eye, and foot protection may be required.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, handling, and grasping.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures.

Pay Rate: $19–$21/hr DOE (Depending on Experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–11:30 PM
Location: St. Petersburg, FL 33716
