Job description

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
WORK WEEK: 20-29 hours per week or as needed to accomplish tasks (seasonal, spring to fall only)
WAGE CLASSIFICATION: $20.00 per hour
OSHA RISK CLASSIFICATION: Low
SUMMARY POSITION STATEMENT
The purpose of this position is to provide grounds maintenance to all PCHS properties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
  • Provides grounds keeping for all PCHS facilities as directed, including mowing all lawns, aerating and dethatching lawns, fertilizing lawns, picking up trash and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Maintain landscape at all facilities. Tasks include weeding garden beds, trimming, shaping and removing bushes/hedges as needed, shoveling dirt, rocks and other debris.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, battery changes, dismounting and remounting of sharpened mower blades.
  • Assist in sidewalk concrete repairs including saw-cutting, demolition, forming and pouring.
  • Sanding, cleaning, prepping, and painting interior and exterior walls, railings, fixtures as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: General job skill experience.
Job Requirements:
  • Possess basic understanding of OSHA
  • Must be computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office Products and be able to type 25 wpm.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze grounds maintenance needs and offer creative improvements.
  • Active and clean AK driver's license is required.
  • Tools and equipment will be provided by the organization.
  • Must pass a State required background and pre-hire drug screen.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Physically demanding position. Must be physically fit.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate in writing, in person and by phone.
  • May be some lifting up to at least 75 pounds.
