Job description

About Us
As an independent developer and publisher, Templar develops the games that we want, on our own schedule. We are actively staffing up for both in-house game development and supporting published titles. Templar provides a professional yet non-corporate environment where every team member's input and collaboration matters. Based in Alpharetta, GA just north of Atlanta, Templar is in the perfect area for those that enjoy sunny weather and a relatively low cost of living.
Role Overview
You will work on Templar Media's first game, Gate Zero, where, you'll own significant portions of project delivery, act as a key liaison between creative, technical, and business teams, and ensure we ship high-quality games on time and within budget. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and wants real ownership without full executive responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day production for one or more game projects (or major features/systems), including scheduling, milestone planning, risk management, and dependency tracking
  • Facilitate cross-discipline collaboration between design, art, engineering, audio, QA, and other teams - running effective meetings, removing blockers, and driving consensus
  • Maintain and update project schedules, budgets, and resource plans using tools like Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar
  • Velocity tracking - utilizing the team's ability to produce and apply the data to inform or influence development strategies
  • Track progress against milestones, identify risks/delays early, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Communicate status updates clearly to senior leadership, external partners (if applicable), and the broader team
  • Help define and refine production processes to improve efficiency and team velocity
  • Support scoping decisions, prioritize features/backlog, and champion realistic scope management
  • Mentor junior producers or production assistants when needed
  • Contribute to post-launch support, live operations planning (if relevant), and retrospectives

Requirements
  • 3-6+ years of experience in game production or related project management roles (video games preferred; transferable experience from tech/software considered)
  • Proven track record of shipping at least one commercial game (indie, AA, or AAA) as a producer or associate producer
  • Strong understanding of the full game development lifecycle (concept → pre-production → production → launch → live ops)
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with production tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Shotgun/Flow, Notion, etc.)
  • Familiarity with agile/Scrum methodologies (or hybrid approaches common in games)
  • Solid grasp of game development disciplines (design, art, engineering, QA) and the ability to speak their language
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal - with experience presenting to stakeholders
  • Passion for games and a player-first mindset

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with single player narrative games
  • Previous work on cross-platform titles (PC, console, mobile)
  • Familiarity with outsourcing coordination or vendor management
  • Background in risk management, budgeting, or production analytics
  • Certification in project management (PMP, Scrum Master, etc.) - not required

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary + performance bonuses
  • Fully Covered Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • Flexible working hours
  • 401(k) matching
  • Collaborative, creative environment with passionate teammates
