As a French teacher assistant, your job is to help students in a classroom learn to read, write, and speak the French language. Many of the duties and responsibilities of this job depend on the teacher. For example, some teachers may have you focus on creating or grading exams and quizzes, while others may have you work directly with students so they can get immediate feedback during their practice sessions. French teacher assistants may attend faculty meetings, tutor students who need extra help, or perform any other task assigned by the head teacher. Most language classrooms have one assistant at most, but in rare cases, you may work alongside other teaching assistants.
