Description

The Grand Rapids Flight Operations Specialist Intern provides primary support to the Grand Rapids Trip Planning Specialist and other Pentastar team members. This role is primarily based on site at GRR Airport. The Trip Planning Specialist oversees all trip-related details and scheduling requirements for customer itineraries, flight crews, and aircraft in accordance with Pentastar policies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support daily interactions with planners, schedulers, account managers, and other company personnel.
  • Help maintain strong client communication and relationships.
  • Assist with special client requests.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating client trips.
  • Assist in scheduling crews per FAR Part 135 and Part 91 Regulations.ย 
  • Help resolve scheduling and trip-related conflicts.
  • Assist with reviewing and auditing trip expenses for each flight.
  • Assist with proactive trip planning by:
    • Identifying upcoming scheduling issues.
    • Recommending solutions before problems arise.
    • Maintaining awareness of customer preferences.
  • Participate in customer and company meetings as required.
  • Participate in daily OCC discussions, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Take on additional duties as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a four-year college degree in an aviation discipline (flight operations, administration, etc.) preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of aircraft capabilities and limitations preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of weather, flight planning, and weight and balance preferred.
  • Experience with aircraft performance and international operations is preferred.

A flexible schedule based on customer needs is required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.

Strong customer service skills required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

This is primarily an in-person role, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
