Job description


A large manufacturing company is seeking an individual to set up and operate Haas 5 Axis Vertical Mills, using appropriate tooling, materials, methods, and procedures in order to meet all customer print requirements in production. There is an opening on both first and second shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Set-up and operate CNC and Bridgeport Haas 5 Axis Vertical Mill Machine to produce parts, verify conformance to customer specs, make machine offsets, and read G&M code programming and editing
  • Read blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and perform surface plate layout with height stand
  • Move product to various locations in the shop via forklift or pallet jack, record piece counts, location, and record all daily production data into operating system software and on routing sheet
  • Responsible for all daily and some weekly preventative maintenance that is required on these machine
  • Inspect parts during run to ensure compliance with all blueprints and quality standards
  • Load and unload material and clean, deburr, sort, and stack all finished parts
  • Run jobs on all machines according to the operating system software priorities and work with supervisor and Production Control for any necessary schedule changes
  • Maintain appropriate quality inspection methods and interval levels during all phases of a production run and notify quality control, a lead person or supervisor anytime a need arises
  • Assist in training people new to position in duties that are part of the job, as required
  • Observe all personal and equipment safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as needed

Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
  • Must be able to set-up and operate CNC and Bridgeport Haas 5 Axis Vertical Mill Machines
  • Must be familiar with G&M Code programming and editing
  • Must be able to machine cast aluminum and various types of plastic material
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to accurately use calipers, micrometers, and perform surface layout height stands
  • Operation of forklift or pallet jack is needed
  • The ability to fill out all documentation in a timely manner is required
  • Must be able to check material and/or product for obvious defects before starting a job, during the job, upon finishing the job, as well as, notifying a supervisor anytime a quality issue arises
  • Must be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, able to follow all safety rules, and maintain a safe work environment
