Job description

We are seeking a Senior Associate Financial Planner for our wealth management firm in our Tukwila, WA Office. Candidates who currently have a CFPยฎ (or equivalent), who thrive in a small firm environment, and want to be involved in all aspects of the business, are of high interest to us. At Mainspring Wealth Advisors, we emphasize care for our clients and are looking for planners who not only want to learn from our experienced advisors but also want to focus on strengthening our existing client relationships. Position Overview

This is a professional position that will primarily focus on supporting one of the Financial Planners directly in managing existing and new client relationships. You will be expected to assist in various projects, including portfolio reviews and preparing financial projections using Microsoft Office and company software. Strong understanding of portfolio allocation, investment management, and general financial planning is expected. The Financial Planner will be available to provide mentoring and big picture direction, but you are expected to have the foresight and ability to work independently and anticipate firm needs and client questions.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist Financial Planner in preparing for and conducting client meetings and regularly monitor clientsโ€™ financial situations with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Involvement in all aspects of pre-client meeting activities, including data gathering, preparation of meeting agendas, client paperwork, Investment Policy Statements, and asset allocation.
  • Post-client meeting tasks, including performing financial situation analysis, and coordinating planning implementation with outside professionals if necessaryAssist in trading and rebalancing of client investment accounts (including one-off trades, raising cash, bi-weekly rebalances, and tax loss harvesting).
  • Deliver financial planning advice for high-net-worth clientele
  • Develop and manage ongoing client relationships independently
  • Portfolio maintenance and management in conjunction with the Lead Financial Planner
  • Support role on the Investment Committee
    • Adding accounts to models, trading, rebalancing and tax loss harvesting using proprietary software.
    • Conducting ongoing fund research under the guidance of the Chief Investment Officer for updates to models, fund swaps.
    • Coordinating Portfolio reviews under the guidance of the Investment Committee.
    • Building agendas and helping facilitate dialogue.

Key Qualifications:

  • Required FINRA registration, including Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • CFP ยฎ or other industry designations/credentials
  • Self-starter, Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently and keep the Planner aware of progress and hurdles
