YOUR IMPACT
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the controllership function for OpenText's US and Canadian entities. Working as an integral member of the North American finance team, you will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, support the consolidated US GAAP close process, and contribute to accounting excellence across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to partner with Finance, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and business stakeholders while supporting acquisitions, transformation initiatives, and strategic business growth. Your expertise and insights will help drive sound financial decision-making and operational excellence across the region.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP close processes for US and Canadian legal entities, helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, analytical review packages, and legal entity reporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Services to strengthen reconciliation processes, financial controls, and accounting best practices.
  • Support acquisitions, legal entity integrations, and system migration initiatives, including post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Partner with Tax and Legal teams to support compliance activities, tax audits, legal entity requirements, and tax planning initiatives.
  • Work closely with FP&A, Corporate Accounting, and business stakeholders to address finance-related matters and support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects that improve efficiency, scalability, and the overall effectiveness of financial operations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or finance roles, preferably within a technology or global organization.
  • Strong understanding of controllership responsibilities, financial reporting processes, and U.S. GAAP requirements.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent) or equivalent finance credentials.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results, investigate variances, and support business decision-making.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted partnerships across functions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SAP and large-scale financial systems is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $81,600 - $122,400; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
