Position Title
Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A / Strategic Finance)
Position Purpose
The Senior Financial Analyst leads, builds, and executes the firm's financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting functions, serving as the primary finance partner to the Chief Financial Officer by delivering advanced financial insight, disciplined analysis, and decision support. The Chief Financial Officer retains responsibility for financial strategy, external accountability, and final decision authority.
Essential Functions
Financial Leadership
  • Lead and support the execution of firmwide financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting in support of CFO-defined financial strategy
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the Chief Financial Officer by providing rigorous analysis, insight, and recommendations to inform executive-level decision-making
  • Establish financial frameworks, standards, and processes that align with firm's long-term growth and scalability
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and proactively recommend actions

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modeling
  • Develop, monitor, and report on the annual operating and capital budgets
  • Create financial models and forecasts to support business planning and strategic initiatives
  • Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts; clearly communicate drivers and implications
  • Evaluate proposed changes in staffing, methods, investments, and operations for financial impact

Pricing, Contracts & Profitability
  • Lead fee and pricing analysis and develop pricing recommendations
  • Create, maintain, and improve fee-estimating templates and financial tools
  • Support contract management through financial review and risk assessment
  • Analyze profitability by service line, market, and project
  • Identify underperforming services or projects and recommend corrective actions

Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and projections based on detailed analysis
  • Evaluate firmwide financial performance by comparing actual results to plans and forecasts
  • Prepare clear, concise financial presentations and supporting materials for the CFO to present to executive leadership and other stakeholders
  • Analyze project-level performance, including strengths, weaknesses, and margin drivers
  • Assess the financial impact of firm policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives

Cost Accounting & Capital Planning
  • Oversee cost accounting practices and equipment cost analysis
  • Establish and enforce cost analysis policies and procedures
  • Analyze capital needs and develop investment recommendations for CFO review and approval

Short- & Long-Term Incentives
  • Lead analysis and calculation of short- and long-term incentive programs
  • Provide insight on incentive structures to support performance and retention

Mergers & Acquisitions & Strategic Growth Support
  • Perform detailed financial analysis and due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments
  • Build and maintain detailed acquisition and valuation models, including scenario analyses to support the CFO's evaluation of strategic opportunities
  • Analyze target firm financials, backlog, contracts, and operational risks
  • Support the CFO by analyzing financial implications, risks, and scenarios related to strategic fit, deal structure, and post-acquisition performance Assist with post-acquisition financial planning, reporting structures, and performance tracking

Team & Function Development
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support
  • Design scalable finance processes, tools, and reporting structures
  • Assist in defining the structure and future roles of the finance function

Supervisory/Coaching Responsibilities
None. Expected to build and lead the finance function over time as the firm grows.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver and manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (master's degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including financial planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and take full ownership of financial responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support and influence leadership through analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Work Environment
The associate works in an office and outside, potentially exposed to a variety of environmental conditions.
Hours of Work and Travel
Position requires 40+ hours per week. Travel to visit clients, tour project sites, and other office locations on a regular basis is required. Nights away from home, and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates and clients are required.
