Job description

THE JOB / Account Trainee (Event Assistant)

EVENTS / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

Assist event director with day-to-day preparation and execution of the SAS Championship HBCU Invitational held October 16 - 18, 2026 at Prestonwood Country Club.  The Octagon staff, located in Cary, NC, is directly responsible for managing all aspects of the event of the SAS Championship.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Assist Event Director with day-to-day preparation and execution of event
  • Create and distribute communication to athletes and coaches
  • Management of tournament merchandise and inventory
  • Assist with management of hotel and transportation needs for athletes and coaches
  • Coordinate food and beverage needs with Prestonwood for athletes and coaches
  • Provide support to marketing and communications coordinator to create and implement social posts, announcements, etc.
  • Assist with coordination of Career Day and Champions Cookout Q&A for athletes
  • Provide support to the Operations Director for on-course operational needs
  • Compile HBCU Invitational overview report at close of the event
  • Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
