Job description

Summary of Functions
The Entertainment Event Supervisor is an on-call, event-driven position responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of entertainment events at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. This role works closely with Entertainment Managers and internal departments to ensure seamless event operations and exceptional guest and artist experiences.
This position primarily works on scheduled event days, with additional hours as needed before and after events to support advance preparation, event execution, and post-event wrap-up. The Entertainment Event Supervisor serves as a key liaison between artists, tour personnel, production teams, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning & Advancement
  • Coordinate and advance artist and production details in alignment with contracts and riders, including technical requirements, hospitality, accommodations, transportation, security, catering, and backstage needs.
  • Support pre-event preparation by coordinating with internal departments and ensuring readiness of all event elements.
  • Assist with venue setup, configuration, and overall readiness for entertainment events.

Event Execution & Operations
  • Serve as an on-site representative and primary support resource for touring productions in partnership with the Entertainment Operations Manager.
  • Oversee and manage event operations on show days, ensuring timely execution and effective communication across all participating teams.
  • Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.

Post-Event & Financial Coordination
  • Assist with post-event activities, including settlement support, breakdown coordination, and follow-up communication.
  • Process and coordinate artist deposits and payments in accordance with established procedures.

Guest, Artist & VIP Relations
  • Partner with the Box Office to fulfill artist VIP, meet-and-greet, and fan club commitments, including on-site execution when required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with artists, guests, and high-profile individuals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision, training, and leadership to backstage runners and event support staff.
  • Communicate expectations, enforce standards, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and service expectations.
  • Partner with Entertainment Managers to execute operational plans and uphold performance standards.

Education
  • Associate degree in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in live event production, entertainment operations, hospitality, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when working with artists, VIPs, and confidential information.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, riders, and operational documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer applications.
  • Ability to assess operational needs, staffing levels, and event logistics.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Work Permit Level 2.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required by business needs
  • Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance
  • Valid driver's license and insurability if operating a Tribal vehicle

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and repetitive motions.

  • May require bending, stooping, crouching, and navigating stairs or ramps.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
  • Primarily works in an outdoor entertainment venue
  • Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and sun exposure
  • Frequently operates in crowded, high-energy event environments with moderate to high noise levels, especially during live performances
  • May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, staging equipment, lighting and sound systems, and airborne particles such as dust
  • Work may occur on unevensurfaces and in both daylight and low-light conditions
  • Requires frequent movement throughout the venue, including backstage areas, seating areas, and event grounds
  • Occasional work in indoor environments for planning, coordination, or administrative tasks
  • Requires flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during events

Travel Requirements
Primarily local travel, occasional out-of-area or out-of-state travel may be required, typically for short durations.
