Duties & Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern
VIAVI Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern to support engineering activities related to vacuum chamber optical coating systems and handheld spectroscopy products. This internship provides hands-on exposure to mechanical design, CAD modeling, engineering documentation, and internal engineering systems within a collaborative product development environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers with mechanical design and CAD modeling using SolidWorks
  • Support development and maintenance of engineering drawings and documentation
  • Participate in prototype evaluation, fit checks, and design reviews
  • Help maintain internal engineering systems, records, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on product development activities
  • Support ongoing engineering and continuous improvement projects
