Based in Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, Palo Alto, or San Francisco, the Assistant Litigation Docket Manager will be responsible for maintaining the firm's litigation calendar and assisting with litigation docketing.

This role reports to the Litigation Docket Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing all assigned docketing and calendaring work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reviewing litigation documents for relevant dates and effectively use the docketing and calendaring system to index court documents and enter applicable dates.
  • Collecting, maintaining and updating information on attorneys, such as bar admissions and e-filing credentials.
  • Contributing to knowledge management-related initiatives as they pertain to litigation case files, docketing, records management and other similar areas of function within the litigation department.
  • Assisting the Litigation Docket Manager with training junior docket clerks and reviewing work product for conformity with court rules and procedures. 
  • Assisting the Litigation Docket Manager and Managing Attorney-CA with researching and extracting information from court-related databases, websites and relevant docketing and calendaring applications including PACER, Bloomberg and other similar platforms. 
  • Complying with department and firm administrative policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with department projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • The position involves significant contact with lawyers, court and clerical staff.  This requires solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • The Assistant Litigation Docket Manager must be highly organized and a team player.
  • Able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, including attorneys, co-workers, and administrators.
  •  Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Able to plan, organize and complete multiple related activities.
  • Must deliver high quality work product and have the ability to follow up and follow through.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, as well as on a team, in a fast-paced environment.

 Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a Managing Attorney/Clerk's Office at a large law firm preferred.
  • Proficient in calendaring software such as CourtAlert.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of California federal and state court systems and the corresponding federal, state and court rules.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $105-125k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
