Job description

Legal Assistant Docket Clerk

Hall & Evans is seeking a Legal Assistant Docket Clerk to support our Denver office. The Legal Assistant Docket Clerk is responsible for maintaining and updating litigation calendars, court deadlines, and case files, ensuring compliance with court rules and filing requirements. Key duties include docketing, tracking court dates (motions, trials, depositions), filing documents, and notifying attorneys of critical deadlines. This role is critical in supporting the firm's attorneys and legal staff with accurate and timely docketing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain docketing system to ensure accurate tracking of all deadlines.
  • Enter, monitor, and update all court dates, deadlines, and litigation related events into the docketing system.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local court rules and update docketing procedures as necessary.
  • Perform thorough reviews of court filings, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents to identify and ensure proper and timely entry of all key dates and deadlines for filings, responses, and other critical actions.
  • Communicate with attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals to notify of and verify case status and deadlines.
  • Generate and distribute weekly docket reports and reminders.
  • Assist with e-filing and submission of documents to courts, when needed.
  • Conduct periodic audits of the docketing system to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Occasional docket searches across various jurisdictions for case information and legal representation to support business development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a docket clerk or in a legal support role with docketing responsibilities.
  • Experience with docketing software and legal case management systems
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures/rules.
  • Expertise in Colorado state and federal rules of civil procedure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • High School diploma required
  • Related professional legal secretarial degree or paralegal certificate strongly preferred

The hiring range for this position is $50,000 to $77,300 annually.

This position will be posted until June 30, 2026.
