Job description

IP Docket Clerk

We are currently seeking an IP Docket Clerk to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group.

In this role, you will provide administrative support to the firm's IP docketing function by assisting with the processing and maintenance of intellectual property records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing a career in intellectual property docketing.

This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to a firm office for onboarding, training, team meetings, or other business needs as required. The hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Receive and review intellectual property mail, courier packages, and electronic correspondence for docketing needs.
  • Process attorney and staff requests related to docket entries and updates.
  • Maintain and update intellectual property databases and records.
  • Assist with maintaining docketing procedures and process documentation.
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, legal administrative assistants, and other staff regarding docket-related matters.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties in support of the Intellectual Property team.
  • Support the IP team with additional administrative tasks related to docketing as needed

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of administrative, clerical, legal support, or office experience.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or intellectual property environment is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately manage information.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with legal docketing software, such as Computer Packages, Inc. (CPi), is a plus but not required.
