Position Overview
The Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating daily job assignments and optimizing the scheduling of Field Engineering Technicians to ensure timely service delivery and operational efficiency. This position serves as the primary point of contact for client job requests, leveraging dispatching software to align technician deployment with project needs, location, and availability. The Dispatcher also supports laboratory sample logistics, manages field equipment check-outs, and ensures proper documentation for scheduling, purchase orders, and technician records. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment to support field productivity and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate professionally with client representatives via phone and email for job assignments.
  • Document conversations with clients and prepare work orders.
  • Coordinate job assignments in relation to the location of Field Technicians: using online dispatching software to maximize production and minimize travel time.
  • Manage the scheduling, deployment, and Time Off usage of all Field Technicians.
  • Organizes laboratory sample retrieval (concrete cylinders, soil samples, etc), and notifies the Laboratory Supervisor of pending rushes.
  • Maintains log of Nuclear equipment checked in or out, and distributes dosimeter badges to Technicians.
  • Assist the Productivity Project Manager when necessary with word orders and Technician paperwork issues.
  • Obtain and organize all purchase orders prior to scheduling Technicians.
  • Adhering and abiding to all safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record.
  • 1-3 years of related training and/or experience with an AEC firm preferred.
  • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, such as sending/receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC) software to input data and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of standard field and laboratory procedures.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing schedules and hours to support business needs.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret procedures, manuals, technical documents, and reports (written and oral).
  • Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
    Travel Requirements
    • This position requires occasional travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.

    • This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
    • The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
