Position Summary

St. Joe Petroleum is seeking an organized, dependable, and adaptable Assistant Logistics Coordinator to support the daily scheduling and dispatch of our fleet of tractor-trailers and drivers.

Working alongside our experienced logistics team, the Assistant Logistics Coordinator will learn all aspects of energy delivery while helping develop and execute daily transportation plans that ensure safe, timely, and accurate deliveries for St. Joe Petroleum Fastgas stores and customers.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities at once, communicates effectively with drivers, customers, sales, and operations, and enjoys solving problems as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily scheduling and dispatch of a fleet of tractor-trailers and drivers, ensuring efficient and timely product deliveries.
  • Validate customer orders, product availability, and inventory for accuracy.
  • Finalize dispatch by assigning and validating orders and communicating assignments to the appropriate driver or carrier.
  • Provide ongoing support to drivers and carriers regarding schedules, deliveries, customer needs, and changing conditions.
  • Assist with adjustments to schedules throughout the day based on customer demand, capacity, price and product supply, weather, and other operational needs.
  • Manage product allocations and assist with supply management.
  • Coordinate and maintain vehicle maintenance plans to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Build consensus and communicate effectively with sales, operations, drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders regarding critical issues.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all logistics systems, processes, and operational functions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or technical school - preferred.
  • 1+ years of logistics experience - preferred.
  • Experience in energy, fuel, transportation, or related industries is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to learn and effectively use proprietary company systems and software.
  • Strong organizational and data-management skills.
