Job description

OverviewThe applicant must be a dynamic, high energy, committed fitness professional.  He/She must possess excellent interpersonal, management, leadership, organizational, and practical fitness skills.  He/She must be capable of professional and personal interaction with a variety of health professionals.  Good customer relation skills.  Ability to take initiative and work independently. ResponsibilitiesWill be responsible for maintaining general facility operations, including prompt opening and closing, cleanliness and inventory supply. Provides service and information to members regarding membership benefits. Provides services that meet special populations effectively

Creates and maintains an environment conducive to Physical and Occupational Therapy and other clinical services use of the facility. Respond to symptoms of exercise intolerance and or emergencies in an appropriate manner. Works with Facilities Management, outside contractors and Director in upkeep and repair of building and equipment as needed. Maintains all equipment in serviceable condition. Develops and maintains effective programming for members of facility. Maintains pool in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines

  Maintains staff training in CPR and AED certifications.  Ensures orientation for new members to facility.  Ensures initial and ongoing instruction of the fitness equipment to members, guests and visitors.

 Provides training for staff to assist members in fitness activities.QualificationsUndergraduate degree in a fitness/health related or business field required. Significant experience in managing in a fitness center along with other specialties may be accepted in lieu of a degree, certification as group exercise instructor preferred.  Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support/AED required. Minimum of five (5) years in the fitness industry.  Management experience in a fitness setting required.  Knowledge and experience of all aspects of fitness operations. Must be competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
