Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton seeks a Data Analyst/Cyber Risk to provide Mission Assurance and Operations Research Analysis (MA/ORSA) support.
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland.
In this role, you will be part of a team to assist Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) understand, identify, assess, and manage risks effecting the secure operation and defensibility of cyberspace, inclusive of DoD intelligence systems, missions support systems, weapon systems, new technology, capabilities, networks, cyber physical system, control systems, cloud environments, and data stores.
Duties include:
  • Identify and recommend cyber terrain/activities which may impact the successful execution of DoD missions, make recommendations, and establish requirements for improvements
  • Provide analysis, risks, and options for mitigation and remediation strategies that support decision making
  • Coordinate and manage and support the weekly execution of a Cyber Operational Analysis Working Group, Mission Assurance working groups, and technical exchange meetings
  • Support the completion of other similar work in the area of operations research and other specific mathematic areas as the need arises
  • Lead and define operational risk assessments and analyses by DAO, Sector, and defined terrain segments
  • Coordinate with AOs, sector commanders/directors, and other stakeholders to identify and understand the customer's cyber relevant risk, strategies, tolerance, and other factors
  • Define and document analysis factors, risk reporting criteria, and risk categories
  • Incorporate risk assessments, options and issues, and results from war-gaming/analyses in collaboration with DoD stakeholders
  • Capture collaboration results with stakeholders in an assessment report, updated monthly.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, changing priorities, and work independently with little oversight.
  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders to facilitate planning, set direction, define initiatives, and develop solutions to needs and requirements.
  • Track and respond to task submitted via the Task Management Tool (TMT) and monitor the team's shared mailbox, providing timely, accurate technical and equity-related responses.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years experience with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with Ph.D. Will consider an Associate with 10 years of experience or HS+12 years of experience.
  • Must be experienced with cloud-based data warehousing, specifically the use of the Big Data Platform (BDP)
  • Must have experience writing data parsers for the BDP
  • Must have experience with Kafka and Apachi NiFi
  • Must also have expertise in cloud native data storage services and data warehousing methods
  • Must be familiar with SQL and noSQL data storage methods
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of all aspects of Defensive Cyberspace Operations
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in a variety of formats
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work periodically on shift to assist the team
  • U.S Citizenship Required.
  • Active DOD TS SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialized Certifications- One of DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
