Job Overview:

The Business Data Analyst supports the Business Intelligence department by assisting with data analysis, performance tracking, and data preparation to drive retention and growth strategies. This role is responsible for cleaning, organizing, and validating data, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting. The Business Data Analyst helps compile reports, monitor key metrics, and assist in quarterly business reviews by gathering and structuring relevant insights to assess client retention, operational performance, and business growth trends.

 This position works closely with operations leaders and the analytics team to identify performance drivers, provide timely insights, and support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the analyst ensures that dashboards and reports include the necessary data to evaluate retention and growth opportunities. 

The Business Analyst is a Hybrid position. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as retention rates, client satisfaction trends, and business growth metrics, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs.
  • Extract, clean, and validate large datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support strategic planning and business performance initiatives.
  • Assist the Senior Business Data Analyst in analyzing performance data and compiling actionable insights through clear, concise summaries and visualizations that enable leadership to make data-driven decisions.
  • Track KPIs, goals, and performance metrics to assess client engagement and business success, highlighting trends or variances that require attention.
  • Design, build, and enhance dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, and SQL, applying strong attention to detail to ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure data consistency and governance across multiple sources by aligning on data definitions, validating inputs, and flagging discrepancies for resolution.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for quarterly business reviews and leadership meetings by compiling data, tracking progress toward goals, and surfacing key trends.
  • Work closely with operations teams to gather context and explanations for performance trends, identifying root causes behind business challenges such as client churn, service gaps, or engagement declines.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team and Business Intelligence Manager to improve reporting processes, share best practices for automation and visualization, and align on standards across reporting platforms.
  • Identify gaps in existing reporting and recommend new measures or data models to improve visibility into business performance metrics and enhance data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, and Excel is preferred.   

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Basic knowledge of Power BI (report creation, filtering data, visualizations).
  • Understanding of SQL for querying and manipulating data (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data cleaning functions).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends in data.
  • Understanding of KPIs, business metrics, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to analyze data and extract insights under guidance.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior team members.
