POSITION AVAILABLE — Accounting Assistant

Currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented accounting assistant to assist in maintaining financial records. You will be exposed to basic accounting procedures and principles ranging from accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Basic data entry tasks include posting and reviewing daily deposits.

  • Balance multiple checking accounts and monitor cash positioning

  • Reconcile and verify bank accounts monthly, and addresses inquiries from banks

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financials as well as provide outside auditors with assistance gathering documents

  • Post and review incoming bills for accuracy as well as process payments for invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts

  • Monitor and manage business credit card expenses 

  • Create and monitor departmental budgets

  • Manage the check escheatment process.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Degree in accounting and/or 2+ years of accounting experience 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Sage Intacct, preferred

  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient

  • Ability to collaborate in a team as well as excel independently  

  • Must be able to grasp new concepts quickly and adapt to change

  • Eager to learn!
