Job description

Oak Hall School is seeking an exceptional coach and leader to serve as an Assistant Coach for our Varsity Cross Country program. Oak Hall has a long and storied history of success in cross country, and we now have a need for an assistant coach to build upon and continue this tradition in our cross country teams.
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics and the Head Cross Country Coach, this assistant will contribute to and support all aspects of building, growing and maintaining a highly competitive team, by promoting a positive environment that ensures high levels of growth, learning and performance for all athletes. As an active and collaborative member of the Athletic Department, and the greater Oak Hall community, this Coach will serve as a mentor for their athletes, and model outstanding sportsmanship and respect for opposing competitors and teams.
Significant athletic and competitive experience in cross country and/or distance running, and experience coaching middle school or high school level cross country, is preferred. In addition to having a strong base of knowledge and passion for cross country, and for the student-athlete experience, the ideal candidate will also possess an understanding of the social/emotional needs of middle and upper school-aged athletes and be fluent in different ways to communicate with and motivate athletes of varying skill levels and abilities.
