Position Title: Distribution Assistant Employment Status: Full Time - 38 hours

Internal Class Title: Department Assistant I Job Classification: C 7.17

Department: Media Production Wage Class: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:

The Distribution Assistant performs various administrative duties for the Media Production department and primarily works alongside distribution staff to manage departmental processes and workflows and distribute media content across various platforms. It is crucial that this position supports the mission and values of It Is Written by exemplifying the values and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in all interactions.

Authority & Accountability:

Authority as delegated by the Director of Media Production and directly accountable to the Distribution Supervisor in accordance with It Is Written's policies and objectives.


Essential Position Functions:

  • Obtain statistical reports from various sources and convert them into usable and actionable reports
  • Perform content acquisition research related to the It Is Written TV channel
  • Assist in proofreading on-screen text during the post-production process
  • Pull engagement and analytic reports for the It Is Written TV channel
  • Assist with scheduling programs and episodes for on-demand distribution across all platforms, including the It Is Written TV channel
  • Help update and maintain program and episode thumbnails across all platforms
  • Assist with closed captioning video content
  • Maintain a library of It Is Written programs and episodes
  • Function as a backup scheduler for the It Is Written TV channel
  • Assist with inputting content into the automated transcoding and delivery software
  • Complete entry of program metadata and tagging into databases
  • Create DVD ISO files
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and requests by answering phone calls, monitoring email, and other communication channels
  • Respond to departmental email inquiries as delegated
  • Work closely with the Distribution Supervisor to ensure all work is compatible with It Is Written branding guidelines and strategies
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain department documents, instruction manuals, process improvements, and inter-departmental reminders
  • Be available to meet for Media Production team meetings, project meetings, and in collaboration with team members from other departments
  • Participate, as needed, with the production team in the creation of media content
  • Fulfill other related responsibilities and duties as assigned


    Position Specifications:

    Qualifications, Scope, and Complexity of Duties:

    Education:

    A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required.

    A bachelor's degree in communication, media production, English, or a related field is preferred.


    Experience:

    Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in a business office setting or media organization.

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite.

      • Ability to multitask while maintaining good time-management skills.
      • Needs to have a keen eye for accuracy and be detail-oriented.
