Senior Accountant / Controller

CTech Manufacturing – Weston, Wisconsin


Position Summary

CTech Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant / Controller to join our growing team. This position is designed for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take on increasing financial leadership responsibilities while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting operations.


Depending on the candidate's experience, this role may be hired as either a Senior Accountant or Controller. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial health, supporting operational decision-making, strengthening internal controls, and helping guide the financial strategy of a growing manufacturing organization.


This position reports directly to executive leadership and works closely with Operations, Purchasing, Human Resources, Engineering, and Production to provide accurate financial information and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Manage and participate in daily accounting activities, including:
    • General Ledger
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Fixed Assets
    • Cash Management
  • Prepare accurate month-end and year-end closing entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
  • Monitor departmental spending and financial performance.
  • Assist leadership with profitability analysis and strategic planning.
Manufacturing Accounting
  • Support cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Analyze manufacturing labor, material, and overhead costs.
  • Assist with standard cost updates and variance analysis.
  • Partner with Operations to improve financial performance and operational efficiencies.
Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate annual audits and assist with tax preparation.
Leadership (Controller-Level Candidates)
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight to accounting staff.
  • Improve accounting processes and departmental efficiencies.
Requirements:

Senior Accountant

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

Controller

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
  • Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience preferred.
  • Strong manufacturing cost accounting and financial management experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and inventory costing.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
