About the Role
PPT Solutions is seeking a seasoned, high-impact financial leader to serve as the cornerstone of our internal accounting team. As the Lead for our accounting department, you will ensure the integrity of our financial operations while acting as a strategic bridge between leadership, contracts, and HR. This is a hands-on leadership role and is for someone who thrives in the fast-paced environment of government contracting.
Key Responsibilities for Accounting Manager / Controller:
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the internal accounting team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring professional development and accuracy across the department.
  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Directly oversee and execute Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, General Ledger, ensuring timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Executive Partnership: Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, providing clear financial insights, budget analysis, and data-driven recommendations to support company growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Interface closely with Contracts to ensure project setups, CLIN structures, and funding alignments are accurate.
    • Partner with HR to streamline payroll integration, benefits accounting, and employee onboarding/offboarding financial tasks.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all accounting practices remain compliant with DCAA/FAR requirements and lead the preparation for year-end audits.
  • Accounting system management: Manage all aspects of the system to ensure accurate project accounting, labor charging, and financial reporting.

Required Qualifications for the Accounting Manager / Controller:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, specifically within the government contracting (GovCon) industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Location: Ability to work on-site daily at our Huntsville, AL headquarters.
