Job description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for two family-owned construction-related businesses in Seattle, Washington. This role will manage core close activities, support payroll tax and year-end reporting, and contribute to accurate financial records across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance financial oversight with employee support functions.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting activities for two related companies with combined annual revenue of approximately $35 million to $40 million.

• Lead monthly close tasks by reconciling bank accounts, recording journal entries, and preparing schedules for accruals, cost of sales, contracts, and other internal reporting needs.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and help ensure timely, accurate reporting at the end of each reporting period.

• Manage quarterly payroll compliance filings, including required state and federal tax reporting and related reconciliations.

• Review and reconcile payroll accrual balances in the period following each quarter to maintain accurate records.

• Coordinate year-end payroll processes, including balancing wage data and producing W-2 documentation.

• Administer employee benefits activities such as enrollment support and related record maintenance.

• Facilitate employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and support for 401(k) administration.


The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000.
