Job description

Are you looking for a great career with a dynamic and innovative company? Then come join our team at Assured Quality Systems! AQS has IMMEDIATE HIRE OPPORTUNITIES for an Automotive Technical Representative/Sewer in Lansing, MI . This is a 1099 contractor position.

Pay: $23.50 per hour.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday with possible Saturday work.
  • 40 hours plus a week.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent substitute experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience required, with 3-5 years preferred in Automotive manufacturing.
  • Engineering degree preferred.

The Technical Representative provides onsite liaison support between supplier (customer) and the automotive manufacturing plant.

Requirements:

  • Sewing Reworks: Support to repair trim covers in sew machine and manual sewing for quality issues escaped from process and damages created by our customer.
  • Continuously monitor customer relations and customer product quality at Manufacturing Site. Random inspection of components to verify conformance using approved measuring instruments and optical devices (Visual & Dimensional).
  • Notify customer Quality Engineer responsible about rejected products, materials and equipment that does not meet specifications in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Assure timely feedback of inspection results to appropriate personnel.
  • Evaluate problems make recommendations for improvements to upper mgmt.
  • Promote safe work practices and adherence to company operating procedures.
  • Provide Liaison support between customer and plant.
  • Assist with secondary operations and corrective actions, as needed.
  • Driving containment and closure of Supplier Process SQE concerns.
  • Drive quick containment of emerging issues.
  • Driving reduction in supplier Quality Rejects (QRs), Stop Shipments (SS), PPM, and warranty at priority suppliers.
  • Active participation in Plant Incoming Quality (IQ) and Vehicle Quality Review (VQR) Meetings.
  • Coordinating on-site Supplier Representatives.
  • Providing daily input/report to Quality Team and Director Of Operations.
  • Collect data and email to Corp office.
  • Initiate new customer representation opportunities Identify and pursue Technical Representation opportunities with current customers and new customers. Provide regular updates on opportunities to expand rep services.
  • Communicate results and issue to Quality Engineers and Upper Mgmt.
  • Ensure all data provided to Corp office is accurate and sent timely.
  • Submit Customer liaison reports to Customer and corporate office weekly.

Skills:

  • Prior experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Bilingual is a plus+
  • Experience as an Industrial Sewer with Automotive Trim
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and customers.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports and analysis documents.
  • Experience in sew machines.
  • Experience with manual reparations with needle and thread.
  • Experience with customers.
  • Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve (VERY IMPORTANT).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette required.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook. Also knowledge of Photoshop is preferred.
