Job description

Type of Position: Coaching

Position Title: Head Baseball Coach

Salary or Rate of Pay: Stipend

Responsibilities

· Oversee all aspects of the high school baseball program, including practice planning, competition preparation, running camps, and game management.

· Implement and integrate the Viking Strong strength and conditioning program into all phases of the baseball season (preseason, in-season, and offseason) to enhance athlete performance, reduce injury risk, and promote overall physical development aligned with team goals.

· Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administrators, and assistant coaches to promote a positive team culture.

· Cooperate with duties that may be assigned outside of this job description by athletic department.


Qualifications

· Baseball coaching experience and/or competitive baseball background preferred.

· Knowledge of IHSAA rules and regulations.

· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Knowledge of baseball rules, arm care, and athlete safety standards.

· Ability to meet all school district employment requirements, including certifications and background check.


Length of Season: February to June
