Full-time

Job description

Chief Technology Officer
Thrasher Companies: Thrasher Foundation Repair/Thrasher Partners/Supportworks
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who approaches technology as a means to solve real business problems, not as an end in itself. This role is for a business-minded technologist who can step into a complex, multi-entity organization and design the systems, structure, and strategy that will support our next phase of growth.
The right candidate has experience building or transforming technology organizations, not just operating within them. They are equally comfortable thinking at the enterprise level and working alongside operators to understand how work actually gets done. They can lead across infrastructure, engineering, and data without bias, and bring strong judgment in balancing speed, cost, and scalability.
This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution, setting direction while staying close enough to the work to ensure it delivers real impact.
Location – This position is based in Omaha, NE and requires in-office presence as we deeply value the collaboration, innovation, and culture that stem from working together.
Who We Are
Thrasher Companies refers to a growing platform of operating companies, including:
  • Thrasher Foundation Repair (core home services brand)
  • Thrasher Partners (a collection of acquired companies)
  • Supportworks (manufacturer and distributor) and its subsidiaries (including Powerbrace and FDN Engineering)

Each business has distinct needs and operational focus, but all are moving toward a more integrated, enterprise-level model. Technology at Thrasher Companies supports four core areas:
  • Infrastructure & Security: End-user support, cloud/network infrastructure, cybersecurity
  • Software Engineering & Integrations: Internal tools, APIs, workflow automation
  • Data & Business Intelligence: Reporting, dashboards, KPI visibility
  • Business Systems & Technology Delivery: Implementation, project management, user adoption

As CTO, you will:
Build and Lead the Technology Function
  • Design and evolve the structure of the technology organization
  • Lead the four core functional areas under a unified vision
  • Determine the right balance between internal teams and external partners

Own Enterprise Technology Strategy
  • Create a cohesive, scalable technology architecture across all operating companies
  • Ensure alignment between infrastructure, engineering, and data
  • Make clear, disciplined investment decisions

Drive Business Impact Through Technology
  • Partner with leaders across operations, marketing, finance, HR, supply chain, etc.
  • Translate business needs into practical, high-impact technology solutions
  • Ensure systems are adopted and used effectively

Establish Operating Rhythm & Prioritization
  • Build a clear process for defining, prioritizing, and executing technology initiatives
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with business leaders on trade-offs and progress
  • Prevent technology from becoming siloed or reactive

Lead the Build vs. Buy Evolution (Including AI)
  • Develop a point of view on when to build custom tools vs. leverage SaaS
  • Explore how AI-assisted development changes cost, speed, and capability
  • Enable small, high-leverage engineering efforts where appropriate

Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a CTO, CIO, VP of Technology, or similar senior leadership role.
  • Experience building or transforming technology organizations in a growing environment
  • Strong business acumen; able to translate problems into practical solutions
  • Broad leadership across infrastructure, engineering, and data
  • Ability to define and execute a clear, business-aligned technology strategy
  • Sound judgment balancing speed, cost, scalability, and risk
  • Experience with build vs. buy decisions and vendor management
  • Familiarity with modern tech stacks (cloud, APIs, data platforms, AI-assisted development)
  • Ability to design scalable systems without overengineering
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and partnership skills
  • Clear communicator of technical concepts to business leaders
  • Ability to set priorities, drive execution, and deliver results
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • Experience leading change and driving adoption

Why Join Our Team
This is an opportunity to build on the technology function for a suite of companies entering their next phase of growth.
We’re not looking for someone to simply agree with our approach. We’re looking for a leader who will build on what we’ve started, challenge it where needed, and create a clear roadmap to help us scale.
We are committed to remaining privately held, which allows us to take a long-term view – investing in our people, our systems, and our customers without the pressure of short-term market demands. We prioritize building a durable business with strong culture, high integrity, and lasting impact.
If you’re motivated by shaping systems, partnering with operators, and building for the long term, we’d welcome the conversation.
Thrasher Foundation Repair, Thrasher Partners and Supportworks are Equal Opportunity Employers (EOE), and we welcome you to apply!
