Campus Manager
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
Position: Campus Manager
Reports to: Executive Director of Operations
Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Classification: Exempt
Description Summary
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, grounds, campus security, building systems, and contractor relationships for all church-owned properties. Leads maintenance personnel and ministry partners to ensure facilities, grounds, and infrastructure are maintained with excellence, safety, and long-term stewardship in mind.
Note: This position requires PV Membership.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for leading and developing the Maintenance Team and associated volunteer teams to support the vision, goals, and ministry strategies of PVBC.
  2. Oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance programs for church buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
  3. Manage campus grounds operations, including lawn care, landscaping, irrigation systems, snow removal, parking lots, and exterior appearance.
  4. Responsible for campus security systems, including alarms, access control systems, cameras, locks, keys, and related security procedures.
  5. Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate repairs necessary to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  6. Oversee vendor relationships and contracts related to maintenance, security systems, HVAC, elevators, landscaping, and other building maintenance services.
  7. Develop and maintain short-term and long-term plans for facility improvements, equipment replacement, capital projects, and campus enhancements.
  8. Enhance current structure and systems to enhance operations efficiencies.
  9. Assist in preparing and managing maintenance, grounds, and capital improvement budgets.
  10. Monitor and maintain operational readiness of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, fire protection systems, and other critical infrastructure.
  11. Partner with church leadership and the Properties Team to identify facility needs and implement strategic improvements.
  12. Develop a culture of stewardship, safety, teamwork, and excellence among staff and volunteers.
  13. Cultivate and equip volunteer teams in areas such as landscaping, mowing, maintenance projects, painting, lighting, and campus improvement initiatives.

Qualifications / Job Skills
  • Sense of calling for the position
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of facility maintenance systems
  • General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, fire alarm, sprinkler, CCTV, and access control systems
  • Strong vendor and contractor management skills
  • Project management and budgeting experience
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and independently
  • Experience leading maintenance personnel and volunteers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours

Education / Experience
  • Minimum Associate's or Bachelor's Degree; relevant work experience may substitute for a degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance, grounds management, or campus operations
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience with security systems and contractor management preferred
