Position Summary

York Building Products is seeking a Dozer Operator to safely and efficiently operate various types of equipment in a quarry and production environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced setting.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and excavators.
  • Perform daily inspections and routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and flexibility in daily operations.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and operating instructions.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry, mining, construction, or similar industrial environment.
  • 1–2 years of experience performing preventive maintenance and lubrication services on mobile equipment.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other environmental conditions.
  • Regular operation of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Compliance with all York Building Products safety policies and procedures is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to enter and exit heavy equipment safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
