Summary
This role is responsible for driving growth within Mannington's Healthcare segment, including acute care, medical office buildings (MOBs), and senior living. Success in this position will be measured by revenue growth as well as strong collaboration with internal sales teams and external stakeholders, including end users, designers, flooring contractors, and general contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Health and Wellness Segment Leader will provide expert-level knowledge of the healthcare environment to Mannington teams and customers. This includes clearly communicating industry insights to support the development of relevant, fact-based sales tools, product collateral, and customer strategies.
The role will also evaluate new and revised product offerings with the product development team to ensure they meet healthcare market requirements. In partnership with internal and external marketing teams, this leader will help develop focused healthcare continuing education content.
Using market research and competitive analysis, the role will identify trends that inform product development and sales strategy. Insights will be shared with senior sales leaders to help determine the most effective deployment of sales teams and resources.
This position will also help develop confident, knowledgeable healthcare sales teams through learning modules, sales council communication, and advocacy for internal teams. The goal is to better align Mannington's Outperform Ecosystem with customer needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the business plan and go-to-market strategy for Mannington Commercial's healthcare segment.
Identify product needs and collaborate with product managers to create successful offerings for the field sales team.
Identify and target strategic accounts, working with local sales teams to grow business.
Partner with Regional Sales Directors and Healthcare District Managers to define regional healthcare strategies based on opportunity.
Determine where specialized healthcare training is needed and support training efforts.
Support local sales teams in healthcare planning and execution within their markets.
Lead sales, marketing, and product development teams in healthcare awareness efforts.
Monitor healthcare market trends and recommend solutions to protect and grow market share.
Use post-sale end-use feedback to inform product development.
Participate in key trade events that support growth in the healthcare segment.
Collaborate on sales tools and continuing education programs that strengthen Mannington's market position.
Deliver an annual healthcare business review to senior management.
Build and maintain relationships with large end users, including healthcare GPOs, at the director and C-suite levels.
Travel with local sales teams to support business development and expand market knowledge.
Maintain working knowledge of all flooring categories offered by Mannington, including LVT, resilient sheet, commercial carpet, rubber, and wall base.
Use Salesforce to forecast and track healthcare business performance.
Assist with negotiation of service agreements in coordination with the RFP team as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required, along with 10 or more years of experience in the healthcare segment and flooring industry.
Language Skills
The ideal candidate must be able to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. They must also respond effectively to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, and business partners, and be able to write speeches and articles that follow a prescribed style and format. Strong presentation skills are required for communication with senior leadership, public groups, and boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability
This role requires the ability to solve practical problems, manage a variety of variables, and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduling instructions in situations with limited standardization.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Salesforce is required.
Other Qualifications
Significant travel is required, and relocation may be necessary.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods, communicate effectively, and use office equipment such as computers and phones. Occasional movement within the office, lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds, and visual concentration for data analysis and reporting may also be required.
