Job description

North Park University, a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This twelve-month, full-time position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all phases of an NCAA Division III basketball program including recruitment, retention, coaching, scheduling, team travel, and budgeting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists the head coach with the daily operations of the women's basketball program at North Park University.
  • Analyze performance and instruct athletes in basketball techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.
  • Assist with all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting. • Execute practice and game planning/evaluation, including video exchange and breakdown.
  • Ensure a commitment to the academic success of basketball student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
  • Participate in fundraising and development events and be highly visible in the community.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.

Salary Range: $48,000 - $52,000
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Coaching experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of basketball at the intercollegiate level are required.
  • Applicants must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends).
  • Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
  • Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park's mission of Christian higher education.
