Job description

Position Summary:
The Bar Porter will ensure that all assigned beverage stations are maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion adhering to all safety and health standards. The Bar Porter will also ensure that beverage stations are properly stocked and all products are fresh, rotated and properly stored. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
Responsible for stocking ice, washing and restocking glassware, cleaning bar areas, and setting up portable bars.
Responsible for emptying garbage from bar areas and washing trash receptacles as well as the trash receptacle cabinet areas.
Restock and set up bars including replacing empty liquor bottles and retrieving bar tools.
Restock beverage station supplies following established requisition procedures.
Ensure that condiments are restocked, cut when needed, and fresh.
Ensure appropriate levels of glassware are available.
Replace and connect kegs. Replace liquor bottles and soda bibs in the pump rooms.
Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly including glass washers, ice machines, blenders, point-of-sale (POS) system, liquor dispensing system, and coolers. Report any malfunctioning equipment to Beverage management.
Assist with projects for the department including moving tables, chairs, and portable bars.
Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.
Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when using or dispensing chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to move up to 100 lbs. using a hand truck or flatbed cart with or without assistance.
  • Ability to lift, maneuver, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate using a two-way radio.
