Job Summary

The Bar Manager oversees daily bar operations and leads the beverage team in delivering a high-energy, hospitality-driven guest experience. This position is responsible for managing bartenders and bar support staff, maintaining beverage quality and consistency, supporting financial performance, and ensuring the bar runs efficiently during every service.
The Bar Manager plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar while supporting menu development, beverage training, and service standards.
This is a full-time, salaried leadership role requiring 2+ years of bar or restaurant management experience and open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Bar Operations & Leadership

  • Lead daily bar operations, ensuring service standards, efficiency, and guest satisfaction during all service periods.
  • Maintain a strong presence behind and around the bar, supporting bartenders and barbacks throughout service.
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked, organized, and prepared for each shift.
  • Monitor drink ticket times, beverage quality, and presentation standards.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures for all bar stations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all bar areas.
Beverage Program & Quality
  • Ensure consistency and quality of all cocktails, wine, beer, and beverage offerings.
  • Support the development and implementation of cocktail menus and beverage features.
  • Maintain accurate recipe execution and enforce beverage standards.
  • Oversee glassware organization, garnish preparation, and overall bar presentation.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
  • Deliver a welcoming and polished guest experience through strong leadership and service support.
  • Assist bartenders with guest interaction during high-volume service.
  • Handle guest concerns, service recovery, and escalations professionally.
  • Support special events, VIP guests, and promotional activations as needed.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard bartenders and bar support staff in partnership with management.
  • Train and mentor bartenders and barbacks on service standards, beverage knowledge, and operational systems.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings for the bar team to review updates, features, and service priorities.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to maintain strong team culture.
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling and labor awareness for the bar team.
  • Manage inventory counts, ordering, and product organization.
  • Monitor pour costs and support beverage cost control initiatives.
  • Oversee daily cash handling, comps, voids, and bar-related reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona liquor laws, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of bar management or restaurant management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred), scheduling platforms (7Shifts), and inventory tools (Restaurant365 preferred).
  • Current Arizona Food Handlers Card and Liquor Certification (or ability to obtain before start).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
