General Role Description
The Project Designer/Project Engineer provides creative and proactive solutions for our clients and their projects. The role collaborates with other design disciplines to ensure a complete design solution. The role takes direction from the Senior Project Designer/Senior Project Engineer and incorporates all design decisions into the design documents. This role is responsible for the day-to-day design, production, and collaboration for all sizes of projects.
How You'll Spend Your Day
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver programming, conceptual, and detailed design solutions.
  • Manage multiple project timelines effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Serve as secondary client contact: respond promptly to emails, facilitate meetings, resolve design issues, and coordinate internal team participation in meetings and calls, on select projects.
  • Attend site visits as needed and document findings.
  • Ensure design materials comply with applicable codes, regulations, and project specific requirements.
  • Review construction documents, shop drawings, and RFIs for alignment with design intent and client objectives.
  • Understand the scope of the project and bring additional scope request(s) to the attention of the Senior Project Designer and Senior Project Engineer.
  • Assist senior team members with design risk management and resolution.
  • Contribute project-specific content for select RFPs and support client presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table
  • An undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 2-5 years of professional experience working in an architectural / lighting or MEP firm with an emphasis on electrical systems design
  • The capability to apply Electrical Engineering and Lighting Design principles to projects of all sizes and categories
  • Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam
