Job description

As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for assisting the Controller in handling the timeliness and accuracy of all daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial information. An effective assistant controller will value collaboration with internal and external clients and have a natural aptitude to identify, hire, motivate, and develop a high performance team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activities and monitor the financial reporting processes.

  • Review reports and analysis to enable informed decision-making by internal parties as well as to comply with requests by external parties

  • Responsible for timely and accurately publishing of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for presentation to Managing Partners and Board of Directors

  • Responsible for annual financial audit

  • Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks

  • Development of staff, both professionally, as well as aligning them with our current culture and building engagement within the firm

  • Manage 6- 8 direct reports

Experience

  • Prior Professional Services experience desired, whereas you have dealt with clients on a daily basis and possess a client service attitude

  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, while being resourceful and independent in solving problems

  • Ruthless prioritization with the ability to handle competing priorities

  • Deadline driven, detail oriented and expertise in time management

  • Proven experience working in a matrix environment

  • Working knowledge of all facets of accounting- accounts payable, account receivable, billing, and general accounting

  • International accounting experience preferred

  • Multi-currency experience

Qualifications

  • 10 - 15 years of general accounting experience

  • 5 years of managerial experience required

  • CPA designation preferred

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to discuss financial matters across a range of both financial and non-financial management levels
