JOB DESCRIPTION- FULL-TIME

The primary responsibility of this job is to provide administrative support for the Dean of the College of Science and Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor Course Schedule Change Requests (CSCR's) and keep log
  • Monitor College of Science and Engineering emails
  • Process items for dean signature and distribute to next step
  • Monitor COSE Curriculum Change Proposals (CCP's) and keep a log
  • Create agenda and take minutes for the COSE biweekly Chairs meeting
  • Attend the monthly COSE College meeting
  • Send notification and reminders to COSE department chairs and assistants about things coming due to the dean
  • Attend Chapel every Wednesday and Friday
  • Attend all university wide meetings and prayer services throughout the year
  • Check the mail at least once a week
  • Coordinate the COSE Faculty Breakfast at the beginning of the Academic Year
  • Work with department chairs to determine who will attend the CEP meetings and relay that information to the ORU coordinator
  • College department meeting minutes each month
  • Run reports as needed
  • Work with departments to update the outlook address book each semester
  • Add all important dates and deadlines to the dean's calendar
  • Schedule meetings and interviews for the dean
  • Process requisitions when needed
  • Keep up with the budget
  • Monitor Faculty and Staff hiring
REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Requires a high school diploma or GED. College level courses are helpful.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and knowledgeable of computer hardware and software. Requires excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Requires 3 (three) years of secretary or 5 (five) years clerical experience.
  • Must be able to compose correspondence and take minutes.
  • Must be creative and resourceful.
  • Must exhibit and maintain confidentiality
  • Must possess the ability to recognize needs and implement changes when needed.
  • Must exhibit the ability to complete comprehensive projects with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its procedures.
