As part of the International and Intercultural Community Centre (IICC), the International Front Desk Administrative Assistant supports student learning and development by creating a friendly, safe, and healthy community for international and newcomer students. Reporting to the International Project Coordinator, the International Administrative Assistant supports International Students in their journey of cultural transition to Canada and NAIT.

  • Provide administrative support and assist students to create a positive student community.

  • Assist with, training, and support with the IICC front desk volunteers.

  • Connect students to different services at NAIT when appropriate.

  • Support front desk coverage at the IICC. Duties and tasks include answering and triaging inquiries, directing students to different service areas, tracking inquiries, and performing other front desk tasks as needed.

  • Update current events and announcements in the Campaigner newsletter sent to students on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Direct students to the correct resources and assist them in booking appointments with International student specialists.

  • Manage and schedule drop-in appointments for International Student Specialists.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and knowledge of NAIT services and locations.

  • Demonstrated strong student leadership, organizational skills, time management skills, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated NAIT campus involvement and understanding of international student experience and needs.

  • Demonstrated intercultural understanding and awareness.

  • Familiarity with using Ookslife, Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Appspace and Campaigner is an asset.

  • Ability to engage with peers in a community space.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12.

  • Currently enrolled at NAIT as a student and will be enrolled in the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters: be in good academic standing.

  • Customer Service or Administrative experience an asset.

  • Equivalences may be considered

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Classification - Administrative Support II

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration

Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay.

Note: Remuneration for part-time positions will be pro-rated based on FTE (full-time equivalent)
