Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Retail Pharmacy Manager opportunity is available in Orange City, IA, starting 09/14/26, to support operations until a permanent manager is hired (approximately 13 weeks). This role is based in a 340B retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital, managing a prescription volume of about 140 prescriptions daily.

Location:

  • Orange City, IA

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • On-call responsibilities are minimal and rare

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficient and accurate dispensing of prescriptions
  • Manage a team comprising one pharmacist and two technicians without the support of PRN pharmacists
  • Utilize the Pioneer pharmacy computer system effectively
  • Ensure compliance with 340B program requirements and other regulatory standards
  • Support workflow and staffing to meet patient care needs within the given hours

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven retail pharmacy management experience
  • Familiarity with 340B retail pharmacy operations is highly desirable
  • Active Iowa pharmacist license, or ability to obtain an Iowa temporary license promptly
  • Ability to work full-time during pharmacy hours
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to lead a small pharmacy team
