Job Summary/Description:
KTIV-TV, Siouxland's News Source, is looking for an Assignment Manager. This dynamic news professional comes with passion, dedication, leadership, and organization. The Assignment Manager will help organize the news coverage day, work directly with the News Director and news management team, along with guiding news staff on assignments and special project planning. They set up stories, organize the daily file, write and edit for all platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Our next Assignment Manager will organize daily news coverage, equipment, and guide the newsroom staff. It's important to have a passion for mentoring journalists. Your actions should support and inspire the team!
- The Assignment Manager must have strong organizational skills, be detailed, flexible, and know the importance of multi-platform delivery of news content.
- Work with the Digital Content Manager, initiating and managing content delivery
- Monitor all newscasts and digital news coverage to ensure staff are meeting standards
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Creativity and passion for news, having fun, leadership in teaching and coaching team members.
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication.
- Ability to multitask in high-stress situations
- At least 3 years of newsroom experience and a bachelor's degree in Journalism preferred
- Knowledge and understanding in using various digital and social platforms
