What you’ll be doing as Asset Protection Specialist

  • Asset Protection & Loss Prevention Support
    • Conduct routine store and donation center audits to identify shrink risks, policy compliance, and security deficiencies.
    • Assist in preliminary investigations involving theft, fraud, or policy violations; gather statements, video footage, and supporting documentation.
    • Monitor security camera systems, alarm notifications, and access-control activity; escalate issues as needed.
    • Support training efforts by reinforcing asset protection procedures with store teams.
    • Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and routine checks of security equipment.
    • Complete and maintain accurate logs, reports, and audit records.
  • Safety Program Support

    • Conduct safety walkthroughs, hazard assessments, and housekeeping inspections.
    • Document and track corrective actions following accidents, safety violations, and near-miss incidents.
    • Support safety trainings and demonstrations, including PPE use, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
    • Assist in maintaining OSHA-required logs, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
    • Participate in Safety Committee meetings and contribute to safety-culture initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety notes, meeting minutes, and required safety postings to ensure clear communication and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintenance & Facilities Support

    • Respond to and complete minor maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, equipment checks, light replacements, or preventative maintenance routines.
    • Submit, track, and follow up on facility work orders; escalate urgent issues.
    • Conduct regular facility condition checks to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, or equipment concerns.
    • Coordinate scheduled service visits with external maintenance vendors and contractors.
    • Maintain logs of building inspections, equipment service records, and maintenance supply inventories.
    • Provide support during renovations, equipment installations, or relocations.
  • Operational Support

    • Assist with disaster-response and emergency procedures (e.g., securing facilities, assessing damage).
    • Provide on-site support during high-volume donation periods, weather-related events, or operational disruptions.
    • Support forklift and equipment safety training logistics (sign-ins, tracking, scheduling).
    • Complete other duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in asset protection, safety, facility maintenance, retail operations, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of OSHA standards and safe work practices
  • Experience with security systems, maintenance tools, or facility work-order systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred certifications (or willingness to obtain): OSHA 10-hour, Forklift certification, CPR/First Aid

Physical Requirements

These work environment factors are general CONSTANT: Stand and near vision. FREQUENT: Bend neck; talk/speak; and visual accommodation. OCCASIONAL: Medium work, lift and carry up to 50 pounds; rotate neck, static neck position; walk; hear within 5 feet and midrange vision.
