Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new 72 bed behavioral health facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of mental health concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How you'll contribute 

An Assessment Specialist who excels in this role:

  • Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, the referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies. 
  • Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
  • RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
  • RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a master's degree in social work or counseling, or graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required.   Additional requirements include:

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients, preferred. 
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
  • Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license, Registered Nurse or per state of practice guidelines. 
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
