Instructional Assistant - 2024-2025 School Year

Location: Englewood, Boulder, JECC Campuses
Reports To: Program Director, Lead Teacher
Status: Non-Exempt

Are you passionate about supporting students with developmental disabilities in a dynamic, inclusive, and community-focused environment? TJS is seeking dedicated Instructional Assistants to help implement individualized programming and foster growth in academic, vocational, social, and life skills.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and specialists to implement student programs.
  • Support students in independent living, hygiene, and community-based instruction.
  • Collect data and implement treatment plans with fidelity.
  • Attend clinical meetings, staff trainings, and home visits.
  • Assist with assessments, IEP/BIP preparation, and progress monitoring.
  • Prepare materials and lead group activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies (CALM).
  • Ensure compliance with school, DHS, and CDE policies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 21
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (preferred)
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License and good driving record
  • Maturity, reliability, and strong communication skills

Skills & Abilities
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Excel
  • Ability to interpret data, solve problems, and communicate effectively
  • Comfortable working in active environments (e.g., swimming, skiing, camp outings)
  • Able to lift/carry up to 150 lbs with assistance and engage in physical activities
