Project Manager - Environmental Due Diligence/ Site Assessment

BL Companies is growing and seeking a driven and experienced Environmental Site Assessment Project Manager with 8+ years of experience to join our Environmental Services group. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) across a diverse portfolio.

In this position, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental due diligence by overseeing technical execution, ensuring regulatory compliance, and evaluating site-related risks to support real estate transactions, development, and remediation efforts.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience conducting and reviewing Phase I and Phase II ESAs, with a strong ability to assess environmental risk and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You are a clear and confident communicator who can translate technical findings into actionable insights for clients, while demonstrating sound judgment, leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in both field and office settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide technical review for Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and resources to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Prepare, write, and review detailed technical reports and client deliverables
  • Develop budgets, proposals, and scopes of work aligned with project objectives
  • Supervise field work, including sampling, oversight, and support for environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Implement and oversee health and safety protocols for field activities
  • BD and team development

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in environmental due diligence and site assessment
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with field sampling, including soil, groundwater, air, and vapor
  • Ability to carry up to 40 lbs of field equipment and work in diverse site conditions
  • Willingness to travel to field sites as needed

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with ASTM Property Condition Assessments (E2018-15)
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Demonstrated interest and potential to grow into a leadership role with increasing responsibilities in business development and staff management
