Job description

Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring an Assembly Operator at our Farmington Hills, Michigan manufacturing facility. This full-time, hourly role operates assigned mechanical equipment and supports quality production across available 1st and 2nd shift openings.

  • Location: Farmington Hills, MI

  • Work Arrangement: On-site

  • Schedule: Multiple shifts available — 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM; 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM

  • Pay: $17.50/hour

  • Other Compensation: $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd Shift

  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

  • Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required.

What You'll Do as an Assembly Operator

Performs work associated with the operation of assigned mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

  • Compensation: $17.50+/hour, based on experience and qualifications

  • Shift Differential: +$1.00/hour for 2nd Shift Key Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate assigned mechanical equipment

  • Ensure that items produced pass quality control requirements

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and perform adjustments

  • Read and interpret blue prints if applicable

  • Use basic measuring instruments

  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately

  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to interpret work instructions

  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions

  • Basic verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic mathematical skills

Qualifications (Required):
  • Education: High School Diploma

  • Experience: Minimum of 0 to 2 years of experience.

Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Perform work under general supervision

  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staff

  • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is an on-site manufacturing position involving the operation of mechanical equipment and use of basic measuring instruments. Employees are expected to follow applicable safety, environmental, quality, and 5S requirements while performing the union-approved responsibilities listed above.
