Job description

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Line Worker at our Lancaster, Ohio location.

Responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's level of training and experience but will include types of work involved with the installation, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, which includes substations. Safety is a top priority of South Central Power Company. Therefore, the successful candidate will have demonstrated safe work practices, exceptional communication skills, and be committed to playing an active role in safety.

The awarded candidate will be required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments and reside within 30 miles of the Lancaster office.

What the job requires…

  • Journeyman Line Worker certification
  • Valid Class A, Commercial Driver’s License, and a current Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate
  • Must possess a high school degree or equivalent
  • Successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol test and pre-employment physical
  • Must successfully complete a pre-assessment verifying Journeyman Line Worker status as determined by the Cooperative
