Food manufacturing experience is a must have
Summary: The Quality Control Supervisor will organize and coordinate activities related to the implementation of quality and food safety programs and standards in a USDA food-manufacturing environment.
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
- SQF Practitioner Certificate preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing Quality and Food Safety Operations in a USDA food manufacturing facility
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and implement SOPs related to Food Quality and Food Safety
- Assist with audits (USDA, FDA, Health Department, Virginia Dept. of Agriculture, etc.)
- Oversee pre-requisite programs (maintenance, supplier approval, pest control, sanitation, etc.)
- Monitor plant compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Maintain QA programs in line with SQF food safety and quality codes
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and internal non-conformities
- Lead root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
